Congratulations!
You are now the proud owner of the compact but powerful Crate GX-15/15R amplifier. Two
versatile channels – one crystal clear and the other with our patented “Flex-Wave” distortion –
combined with reverb (GX-15R) and a three-band EQ offer you more flexibility and perform-
ance than any amp in its class. A special damping circuit simulates the “current source” type of
output of a tube amp, giving you solid state reliability combined with classic tube sounds.
Like all Crate products, your GX-15/15R is designed by musicians, and built using only
the best components. Extensive testing insures you that this amplifier is the absolute best
it can be.

1: INPUT: Use this 1/4” jack to connect
your guitar to the amplifier by means of a
shielded instrument cable.

channel giving you sounds from a slight
edge to serious overdrive.
9: REVERB LEVEL (GX-15R only): Use
this control to adjust the amount of reverb
applied to the output signal.
2: GAIN: Use this control to adjust the
amount of distortion for the Overdrive
channel.
10: HEADPHONES: Use this jack to con-
nect headphones to the amplifier. The
internal speaker is disconnected when this
jack is used. A line level signal can also be
obtained from this jack for recording, etc.
3: LEVEL: Use this control to adjust the
output level of the Overdrive channel.
CAUTION: To avoid possible damage to
your hearing, so not use headphones for
extended periods of time at extremely
loud levels.
4. OVERDRIVE SELECT: This switch,
when depressed, selects the Overdrive
channel. The Clean channel is selected
when this switch is in the out position.
11: EXTERNAL SPEAKER: Use this jack
to connect the amplifier to an external
speaker. The internal speaker is discon-
nected when this jack is used. The imped-
ance of the external speaker must be 4
ohms or greater.
CLEAN CHANNEL: A normal gain channel
giving you sounds from crystal clean to
medium overdrive.
5: LEVEL: Use this control to adjust the
output level of the Clean channel.
6: LOW: Use this control to adjust the bass
response of the amplifier. Rotating the con-
trol counterclockwise reduces the low fre-
quency output. Rotating the control clock-
wise increases the low frequency output. It
may be necessary to reduce the Low fre-
quency output at higher volume levels.
WARNING: Do not attempt to use head-
phones in the Speaker jack! Permanent
hearing damage could result!
12: ON LED: This LED illuminates when
the amplifier is turned on.
13: POWER: Use this switch to turn the
amplifier on (top of the switch depressed)
and off (bottom of the switch depressed).
7: MID: Use this control to adjust the
midrange frequency output of the amplifier.
Rotating the control counterclockwise
reduces the midrange frequency output.
Rotating the control clockwise increases
the midrange frequency output.
14: POWER CORD (rear panel, not
shown): The grounded power cord should
only be plugged into a grounded power out-
let that meets all applicable electrical codes
and is compatible with the voltage, power,
and frequency requirements stated on the
rear panel. Do not attempt to defeat the

overdrive intense.
2. GAIN: Ce réglage determine les quantités de compres-
sion et de distorsion dans le son. Avec le réglage à gauche,
le son a une qualité indistincte et comprimée. En tournant le
réglage à droite la quantité de distortion augmente. Le circuit
«Flex-Wave», exclusivement de Crate, utilise les gains conti-
nus et cascadants pour créer une distorsion qui est riche en
harmonie et «sensitive au toucher.» Utiliser ce réglage avec
le Niveau (#3) pour créer une variété vaste de sons.
9. RÉVERBÉRATION (REVERB): Adjuster la quantité de
réverbération avec ce réglage; avec le réglage à gauche, le
signal est sec (sans réverbération). Tourner le réglage à
droite pour augmenter la quantité de réverbération.
10. PRISE CASQUE (HEADPHONES): Pour avoir la prac-
tique privée, brancher une fiche de casque d'écoute sur cette
prise. Le haut-parleur se déconnecte automatiquement
quand le casque est branché.

volume du canal overdrive: avec le réglage gauche, il n'y a
pas de sortie; en tournant le réglage à droite, le niveau de sor-
tie augmente. Utiliser ce réglage avec le réglage de gain (#2) 11.

AVERTISSEMENT: N’essayez pas à utiliser un casque
d'écoute avec la prise pour un haut-parleur suplémen-
taire.La surdité permanent peut résulter.
5. NIVEAU (LEVEL): Ce réglage determine le niveau de vol-
ume du canal net: avec le réglage à gauche il n'y a pas de
sortie; en tournant le réglage à droite, le niveau de sortie aug-
mente. La position à l'extrême droite présente la sortie au
maximum; en augmentant ce niveau, diminuer le réglage des
sons graves (6).
12. VOYANT LUMINEUX «ON» (LED): Allume quand le GX-
15/15R est en marche pour montrer que l'amplificateur est
activé et prêt à utiliser.
EGALISATION (EQUALIZATION)
13. INTERRUPTEUR (POWER): Cette commande est util-
isé pour ouvrir l'amplificateur avec une position à en haut ou
pour fermer l'amplificateur avec une position à en bas. Le voy-
ant lumineux fonctionne avec ce curseur comme un indicateur
visuel.
6. GRAVE (LOW): Adjuster le niveau de la basse fréquence
avec ce réglage; tourner le réglage à gauche pour réduire la
sortie de la basse fréquence; tourner le réglage à droite pour
augmenter la sortie de la basse fréquence. Le réglage de la
basse fréquence permet une plage totale de 25 dB d'aug-
mentation ou une coupe à 80 Hz. A cause de la quantité mas-
sive des basses fréquences disponibles, diminuer les sons
graves aux hauts niveaux de volume.
14. CORDON SECTEUR (POWER CORD): (Face arriére,
pas montré) Ce cordon de trois fils à la masse doit être
branchè seulement sur une prise de courant raccordée à la
terre. de 120 volt, 60 cycle CA. N’essayez jamais de sup-
primer la broche correspondant à la terre. Si le GX-15/15R a
été acheté en dehors des États-Unis, voir la face arriere pour
son règime de puissance et suivre les instructions en-dessus.
7. MEDIUM (MID): Adjuster le niveau de la moyenne
fréquence avec ce réglage; la position au centre est «plat»
(pas d'augmentation ou de coupe). Tourner le réglage à
gauche pour réduire la sortie de la moyenne fréquence; tourn-
er le réglage à droite pour augmenter la sortie de la moyenne
fréquence. Le réglage de la moyenne fréquence permet une
augmentation de 19 dB ou une coupe à 900 Hz.

The GX-15/15R is covered with a durable black Tolex material: wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth. Never spray
cleaning agents onto the cabinet. Avoid abrasive cleansers which would damage the finish.
